Steve Rhea- Producer


Steve Rhea is a native South Carolinian with over 20 years of film experience. He obtained a B. A. and a Master of Media Arts Degree from USC. Steve has played a major role in establishing South Carolina and the coastal area in particular as a film production destination. For years he has been thought of as a Producer’s first call when considering filming large projects in South Carolina. As such he has had the opportunity and the privilege of working closely with many of the industry’s finest Producers, Directors, and Production Designers. His role as location manager, production manager or producer on dozens of feature films, television movies, commercials and print campaigns have afforded him a variety of experiences and knowledge that he brings to Island Boy Film.

As a location scout and manager Steve has earned a reputation for matching the best locations for the script and generally making the filming experience a positive one for producers, the crew and the community. His location manager credits total over 35 feature films and television movies including “The Notebook”, “The Hunley”, “Major League III”, “Back to the Minors”, “Ace Ventura II- When Nature Calls”, “Paradise”, and “Lords of Discipline”. Steve has helped co-ordinate over 60 regional and national television commercials for clients such as Coke, Budweiser, Cadillac, Chrysler, U. S. Navy, Amtrak, Levis, Walmart and Tide. He has been the producer on projects such as Tsunami Media’s interactive thriller “Silent Steel” and international as campaigns such as Pampers Worldwide, Hugo Bass and Brax Fashion

 

 

Keith Sherer- Director/Cinematographer

Keith Sherer is a Director/Cinematographer with over 20 years of production experience in feature films and commercials. He has traveled the world over filming in such exotic locations such as New Zealand, Morocco, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Keith attended Rochester Institute of Technology and obtained a BFA in Filmmaking at New York University. He has long been recognized as one of the finest Lighting technicians in the Southeast and has worked with some of the Industry’s greats including- Conrad Hall, Bill Butler, William Fraker, John Huston, and Bruce Beresford.

Keith was Head Lighting Technician (Gaffer) on Features- “The Loveless,” “Robocop 3,” “Toy Soldiers,” and the Academy Award Winning “Driving Miss Daisy..”

Keith’s strong lighting background brings a dynamic element to his cinematography as well as speed and efficiency on his film sets. He has over 8 years experience as Director/ D.P. on Regional and National commercials on spots such as McDonald’s, AT&T, Mexican Tourism, Pampers, Coors Lite, Charmin and Easter Seals. Keith’s passion for strong visual imagery is rivaled by his interest in cooking. He shows particular strength on spots featuring food such as Kroger, Texas Pete, Mayfield Milk & Ice Cream, BILO, and Publix.

Keith was Director of Photography on the Independent Film “Delivery Boys.” Recently he teamed up with partner Steve Rhea to form the Beauty Unit New Line Cinema’s “The Notebook.” The Beauty Unit was responsible for special visual FX, Second Unit Photography and the opening title sequence for the film which involved extensive boat to boat photography featuring beautiful low country estuary scenery.
